By the mid-1980s the Porsche 911 had established itself worldwide, and its future was ensured. Model year 1984 would see the launching of a replacement for the prior, and very successful, SC series. In 1984 the Carrera name was revived for the first time since 1977. What is commonly referred to as the last iteration of the original Porsche 911 series; the following cars would all feature new body styling along with new technologies for braking, electronic and suspension systems. A new higher-displacement motor, a 3.2-litre horizontally opposed flat six-cylinder engine was utilized, and the car was offered as a coupe, targa or cabriolet.

Offered in what is reported as original condition, this 1985 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe has the Carrera body with wide body “turbo look” characteristics. These are mainly noticed at the car’s rear with the impressive inlet ducts in front of the rear wheels and rocker area aero “trays,” while the view from the back reveals the imposing tire width to assist rear end grip. Looking great in black with a clean tan interior that has black carpet and dash detail; this Porsche runs with the 3,164-cc, 200-hp horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine that is backed by a five-speed manual transmission. This example is fitted with many refinements that include streamlined sport sideview mirrors, power sunroof, premium Alpine cassette/receiver sound system, air conditioning, VDO gauges, polished Fuchs forged alloy wheels, Dunlop Direzza tires; power windows, steering, locks, seats (rake and height adjustment) and four-wheel disc brakes.
