Hallmarks in styling of Jaguar E-Type Series II cars are open headlights without glass covers, a wrap-around rear bumper, re-positioned and larger front indicators and taillights below the bumpers, better cooling aided by an enlarged "mouth" and twin electric fans, and uprated brakes. The engine is easily identified visually by the change from smooth polished cam covers to a more industrial "ribbed" appearance. It was de-tuned in the U.S. with twin Stromberg carburetors and larger valve clearances, but in the United Kingdom retained triple SU’s and the much tighter valve clearances.

The interior and dashboard were also redesigned; rocker switches that met U.S. health and safety regulations were substituted for toggle switches. The dashboard switches also lost their symmetrical layout. A combination steering lock and ignition key was fitted to the steering column, which replaced the dash board mounted ignition switch and charismatic pushbutton starter. A new steering column was fitted with a collapsible section in the event of an accident. New seats were fitted that were certainly more comfortable. Air conditioning and power steering were available as factory options.

If you are a Jaguar collector who appreciates well-preserved and exceptionally sorted examples, this may be the Jaguar XKE just for you. In a fierce and fiery color combination of Carmen Red over a red interior, it is complemented with a black soft-top and a matching boot. This 1969 Jaguar E-Type stands as a wonderful time capsule of the late ‘60s Jaguar style and design. The roadster presented here is reported as a mostly original car that has benefited from nearly three decades of single ownership.

During that time, the E-Type was always well cared for, consistently maintained, always stored in a covered garage, and is documented by numerous original receipts and records of previous work done. Recently, master technicians at a respected dealer performed a full service, a major tune up, a rebuild of the carburetors, the major systems were gone through and ensured to be in proper working order, and new rubber was installed where needed.

The XKE’s interior has been refreshed, as master trimmers in the owner’s upholstery department custom fitted and installed a proper and correct top, restored the top bows; renewed the seats, center console and panels, and refit the roadster’s carpet. After all the work was completed it received a full final detail. The E-Type includes an owner’s manual, services records and books, along with a Heritage Certificate of Authenticity. Don’t miss this opportunity to own a well preserved example of Jaguar history that is ready to be show, driven, and enjoyed today.
