The distinctive ‘Coupe DeVille’ insignia on the rear top pillars introduces this motorcar as one of the most dramatically styled on the American highway. This beautiful machine combines the comfort and safety of a closed model with the beauty and grace of a convertible. Its exterior styling was considered more beautiful than ever and came with the special wire wheels that were available on all Cadillacs in this model year. They added an extra note of excitement. They were available with eight different interior combinations; many in a strikingly new “V and crest” pattern. Additional luxury was provided by the bright chrome moldings, chrome roof “bows” and deep-pile carpets. The generous recesses in the front seat backs provided exceptional legroom in the rear seating area.

This beautiful example has been frame-off restored and saw approximately $75,000 invested in the process. The Cadillac is presented in one of the three factory green tones for the main body, while a darker green adorns the roof. The N.O.S. leather and cloth interior is also in green-tone. The Coupe DeVille is powered by a 331-cid, 210-hp V-8 engine that is mated to an automatic transmission.

This was the first year for factory air conditioning to be offered by Cadillac and it is reported that less than one-half of one-percent of the total production run were ordered with this luxury – amazingly, this is one of that select and rare group. The wire wheels were standard on this model and look marvelous with the wide whitewall tires and subtle rear fender skirts. Among the other features is an AM radio, power steering and power brakes.

This model year represented the 50th anniversary of Cadillac and they were keen to offer all of the good and wonderful things Cadillac had pioneered over the past 50-years in the finest creation that had ever worn the Cadillac nameplate.
