The Bentley S2 was a luxury car produced from 1959 until 1962. The change from S1 to S2 designation was to mark the new V-8 engine and the improvements that came with it. Power steering was also standard, and a new dash and steering wheel were introduced. Announced at the beginning of October 1959, the S2 replaced the straight-six engine of the Bentley S1 with a new aluminum V-8 engine that displaces 6.2-liters. With this new engine, the S2 offered significantly better performance than the previous cars.
This example is a three-owner car that the current vendor acquired in 1985. The triple-gray sedan has rich, complementary and excellent red leather interior. The burled walnut interior wood trim has been restored and looks beautiful. This left-hand drive Bentley has less than 73,000 actual miles, four new whitewall tires, a car cover, many (if not all) original tools and properly functioning picnic tables. The car has luxury and elegance galore as expected, and also has an electrical cut-off in the boot and a case with replacement parts from a prior owner.
