This 1976 Corvette Station Wagon has a very interesting history with only 24 Greenwood Station Wagon Kits ever made with the later cars being constructed by American Custom Industries. Produced from new as presented, it is a truly unique package reported by the vendor as thought to be the only one in existence. It has only 23,000 miles since new and retains most of the original features found on the car when constructed in 1976. This is one of those as evidenced by the emblems and the “Greenwood” name visibly etched over on the rear hatch glass. There is a unique fully finished interior and aerodynamic under-tray all of which have been preserved in exceptional condition.

This conversion was specifically built with its unique paint scheme for renowned racing engineer Bob Larson of Michigan, who had developed a turbocharging system for C3 Corvettes. This being his personal car into which he installed an experimental "Twin-Turbo" system. The Corvette was his regular summer vehicle seen many times “flying” up I-75 to upper Michigan. Having been in climate-controlled storage since the early 1990s the car was only recently discovered after Mr. Larson’s passing.

This Corvette has been lovingly re-commissioned without spoiling the originality of Mr. Larson’s creation. The suspension, brakes and most mechanical components were either replaced or reconditioned and the car rides and drives well. It is reported as retaining its correct drivetrain and original Code 69 Dark Brown exterior color, and the Code 693 Dark Brown leather interior package.

“Bob was a talented tubing fabricator and was on Ford's Indy Car racing team in the 1960s, where he made Indy Car intakes and exhaust systems. He also made the first NASCAR exhaust that all came out of the right side of the car. The design was copied the next year and all of the NASCAR teams used it and it is still being used today. He was most famous for his header work, and with his ‘Pines’ benders he could make anything. Bob also invented the bolt-on turbo kit for a stock Corvette in the mid-1970s and had a ‘test car’ and a full custom ‘twin-turbo’ Corvette which he owned.”
