The Fiat X1/9 is a wedge-shaped, mid-engined two-seater with a targa top that can be stored in the front luggage compartment. It was originally designed as being a sports car for the masses. It features the engine from Fiat's front-wheel-drive 128 model, mounted transversally behind the cabin to achieve a mid-engine layout. The design of the body and its construction was executed at Nuccio Bertone’s studio and the results saw a smart, edgy profile, an equally modern interior and a well-balanced chassis.

This 33,000 original mile example is presented with a laser-straight rust-free body that has two-stage paint in the proper factory color. The cast-alloy wheels have been refinished and they are fitted with new tires. The car also has an immaculate and richly toned original interior. Other features include a rear-mounted luggage rack, rear window defroster and dual mirrors.

The cars cooling, fuel and brake systems have all been completely overhauled. The suspension is refurbished and the car has new clutch slave and master cylinder. The manual transmission fluid has been changed, and it is reported that the vehicle tracks and brakes “perfectly.”
