Conceived and built by Turin’s Carrozzeria Ghia as a limited production specialty vehicle, the Fiat 600 Jolly was a slightly larger counterpart to the 500 Jolly, based on the Fiat 600 platform with a liquid-cooled four-cylinder engine displacing 633-cc, located in the rear. The transmission is a four-speed manual. As with the smaller 500, the Jolly features an open four-seat body, fitted with delightful wicker seats, a festive surrey-top, color-keyed wheels, whitewall tires, among other features that give this car its “fun” identity.

There were many variations on the basic theme, made famous for its appearances on TV’s Fantasy Island and The Prisoner series, as well as its acceptance by such high-profile personalities as tycoon Aristotle Onassis and acclaimed actor Yul Brynner, among others. The 600 Jolly also offered slightly better performance than the 500 variant, and when new, it was priced at nearly double the standard 600, hence the limited quantity produced. They were used as everything from yacht tenders to taxi transport on Catalina Island, off the coast of California.

This Fiat Jolly has a no expense spared restoration, completed in 2012, and it looks great in its red and white livery. Few of these remain in existence; the figure is believed to be less than 100. The Fiat Jolly is capable of use on public roads. This example is in pristine condition.
