Pontiacs "Tiger" was only a couple of years old when it was restyled for 1966 and it was already legendary across the country. It's sales record was the envy of performance minded product planners across Detroit, its image was a hit on the streets, its race records stood on dragstrips everywhere and pop culture phenomena like Thom McAn "GTO" shoes or hit song "Litlle GTO" kept the car in the public awareness. The new facelift was a hit too with auto stylists everywhere taking notice of the new "coke bottle" sides and flying buttress rear window on the 1966 GTO.
Still a hit with collectors today, the 1966 is an excellent choice for a single car buyer or a jumping off point to start a collection.
