The Cadillac Series 60 Special made its debut in 1938. This model was to be the most luxurious version available for an owner driven car without the length and appearance of a limousine. The opulent broadcloths and hardwoods of the Fleetwood limousine were incorporated within a beautifully distinctive four-door sedan.

By 1941, the Series 60 Special had evolved, according to many, into one of the most elegant four-door sedan models ever built. The front fenders are flared into the front doors and the the rear fender skirts are integral to the styling of the car.

This car was delivered new to Springfield, Massachusetts where it remained chauffeur-driven into the early 1960s. This fact is further evidenced by the wear on the right-side footrest on the curb side. The Cadillac then came into the possession of well-known Cadillac collector Richard Garbitt. After years of careful ownership, Mr. Garbitt sold the car into the southern Florida area within the last few years where it has toured extensively with the Cadillac-LaSalle club and the VMCCA Florida region.

The health and age of the current owner initiates the sale of the Series 60. The car is amazingly original; including the carpets, headliner, door panels, trunk and more. The Cadillac is reported to run as nicely as it looks and is equipped with the uncommon standard-shift transmission. The brakes have been overhauled and the transmission has been rebuilt, along with a new metal-vane electric auxilary fuel pump. Also a new factory wiring harness, dual optima batter system with brass shut off for good to better night driving and battery backup.

The 1941 Cadillac Series 60 is recognized as a full classic by the Classic Car Club of America.
