The Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II was the company’s first unibody car and also received a somewhat larger engine. Additionally, the Silver Shadow II utilized the hydraulic suspension system pioneered by Citroen. Rolls-Royce also added disc brakes as well as rack-and-pinion steering. With all the technical improvements, the one thing that stayed the same was the Rolls-Royce quality and the prestige.
