The Chevrolet Bel Air of 1957 was a car that lent itself well to a variety of needs, what is sometimes forgotten is that not all of those needs were two door fuel injected 283's. The bulk of Chevy purchasers were families and they needed a car suited for that purpose. A four door sedan with the proven inline six cylinder engine and automatic transmission was exactly what the average American family would find to be right. Interestingly, even though the four doors far outsold their two door siblings it has become the four door which is scarcely seen today.
This lot is a chance to grab a bit of the past just as it was. A four door sedan equipped the way most buyers wanted it, it is a well maintained and nicely restored example of family motoring in 1957.
