Under appreciated when they were introduced, the 1959 Cadillac has emerged as the epitome of 1950’s styling excesses and collectability. This series of car had it all, looks, performance and comfort. It was easily recognizable as it stood as a symbol of American success. Controversial, to an extent, with its flamboyant, distinctive tail fins and jet age tail lights; elements inspired by the Lockheed P-38 Lightning aircraft. This flashy design evoked a wide range of emotion amongst the motoring press. Even those who vociferously criticized the styling recognized the undeniable excellence that was produced by Cadillac with this model.

Powered by a 390 cubic inch, 325 horsepower V8 engine and coupled to a HydraMatic automatic transmission. A four barrel carburetor and dual exhausts were standard. Fleetwood lettering was used on the front fenders and on the trim strip crossing the bottom of the deck lid. A rear facing, bullet-shaped, scoop-like convex panel was used on the rear doors and fenders and trimmed by a similarly shaped body rub molding that extended to the front wheel well at the bottom and to the headlamps at the top. Thin pillared, six window styling was seen in the “greenhouse” area and afforded the driver and passengers a clear view off all four corners. A jewel-like front grille design was nicely complemented by a similar effect at the rear. The rear wheels were skirted and the 130 inch wheelbase was now identical to all but the "Seventy-Five" models. The overall length measures 225 inches and is three inches lower than its 1958 predecessor.

The beautiful Rose Wood colored car on offer has air conditioning, power windows, power vent windows, fog lights, white side wall tires, radio, vanity mirror, dual exterior placed mirrors, windshield washer, plus additional appointments that are expected in a car of this stature. Today, these cars are considered icons - nothing says it in quite the same manner as a Cadillac Sixty Special Fleetwood six-passenger, four-window sedan.
