The Boss 302S is built by Ford Racing, together with Watson Engineering, as a ready-to-run road-racing car. The basic specs are aimed at Pirelli World Challenge GTS class racing, but the car is also suitable for SCCA and NASA club events. In the world of factory racecars, the Boss 302S is relatively affordable at around $89,000. Ford builds 50 cars per year, so while they are ordered through Ford dealers (as a part), orders must be placed in time to get an allocation slot and before the annual winter batch build.

It is powered by a 5.0-liter TiVCT engine, which has been modified for better cooling and various ECU settings for 91- and 98-octane fuel. It is equipped with a Tremec T-6060 six-speed manual transmission with integrated cooling pump, 3.73:1 rear end and a Torsen T2R differential. Brembo four-piston brakes provide the stopping power with 14-inch front and 12-inch rear rotors, PFC pads, Ford Racing brake ducts, stainless lines and Ford Racing ABS system. A Recaro HANS ProRacer seat is outfitted in the cockpit along with a Hand window net and Sabelt six-point harness. Finished in School Bus Yellow, this 302S is also outfitted with a Ford Racing front splitter and rear adjustable carbon fiber wing to help keep it planted firmly to the tarmac at speed. This vehicle is fresh off the showroom floor and is number 22 in a 50 car series.
