This rare 1969 AMC AMX is ready for the strip, show or cruising. The AMX was purpose built by American Motors Corporation to out-perform Detroit’s Big Three muscle cars. A short light-weight chassis, "big-block" H/P engine hooked-up to an aggressive four-speed transmission. This is the eras only true two-seat American steel sports car. The collaboration and combined talents of AMC and Hurst created the lowest production number (only 8,293 in ‘69) of any American musclecar from the period. In spectacular metallic bright purple with white racing stripes with a contrasting black interior, this example is equipped with the AMC 390-cid, 315-hp V-8 (replacement short block with original heads), Borg Warner four-speed manual transmission (rebuilt less than 2000 miles ago), Hurst Shifter, Hooker Headers, three-inch exhaust, Crane cam, Edelbrock intake, Holley carb and electronic ignition. Slight upgrades to the engine for racing with a separate racing fuel cell in the trunk, Go Pak option featuring disc brakes, twin-grip axle, heavy-duty cooling, stripe kit, 140-mph speedometer and 8000-rpm tach. With classic mag wheels, aftermarket AM/FM/CD stereo this third owner AMX includes the original owner’s manual and the micro fiche tech manual. Own a piece of American muscle history.
