Sharing a name with Ferrari’s challenger for the 2019 Formula One season, the SF90 Stradale represents a massive technical achievement and further commemorates the 90th anniversary of Scuderia Ferrari. As with Ferrari’s single-seat open-wheel racer, a suite of massively complex systems constitutes the powertrain of this high-performance beast.

At its heart is a 4-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine, a development of the code F154 found in the F8 Tributo and 488 Pista but with an increased cylinder bore, revised heads, and a revised intake and exhaust system, resulting in an impressive output of 769 horsepower. On its own, this powertrain provides more than enough grunt to move the SF90 Stradale at a superlative pace, but the performance ceiling is taken a step further with a hybrid system powered by a 7.9 kWh lithium-ion battery. At the front, electric motors rotate each wheel and allow torque-vectored control of the axle, while the back features an additional motor off of the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. Altogether, the system pushes out almost 1,000 horsepower and allows for sub-3-second runs to 60 miles per hour on the way to a double-century top speed.

Equally impressive, the exterior is a sculptural masterpiece of aerodynamic devices manipulating the air to control drag and downforce via several active elements. The thoroughly high-tech cockpit features a fully digital dashboard and touch controls. The complex driving software for the eDrive modes are controlled through the eManettino setup, effecting the various states of hybrid power and regeneration. The SF90 Stradale is a conclusive technical masterpiece and represents nearly 100 years of innovation for the famed Italian marque. Perhaps Top Gear’s website summarized the car’s attributes best in an article from October 2022: “It’s ludicrously complicated, stupendously clever, and obscenely fast.”

This example was completed in February 2021 and delivered new to the Dare to Dream Collection finished in a classic Ferrari scheme featuring a Rossa Corsa exterior over a Nero leather interior. As seen on the Personalization Specification plaque in the trunk, the car features a number of optional extras resulting in a unique and special appearance. Inside, carbon fiber is utilized for the driver zone, rear shelf, door panels, upper center console, and dash inserts. A Nero dashboard is complemented by red stitching throughout, while the electric seats with Cavallinos on the headrests are finished with a red center stripe. The exterior features forged wheels with titanium wheel bolts and carbon fiber hub caps over red brake calipers. Convenience options include a suspension lifter and an advanced front driving camera. Today, the vehicle shows in remarkable, essentially new condition with just 1,371 kilometers (~852 miles) showing on the odometer at the time of cataloguing. It is accompanied by a battery charger, tools and tire inflator, owner’s manual, and delivery presentation box with partial contents.

The SF90 is a momentous achievement for Ferrari. It is an all-wheel drive hybrid monster capable of setting blistering lap times with the dual personality to quietly skip around town with up to 17 miles of pure-electric driving. Whether for its incredible technology or its exhilarating driving experience, this example will surely be cherished by its next owner.
