225 hp, 332 cu. in. overhead valve V-8 engine with four-barrel carburetor, Mile-O-Matic two-speed automatic transmission, coil spring front and leaf spring rear suspension, and four-wheel self-adjusting drum brakes. Wheelbase: 120 in.

In the early-1950s, the motoring public seemed to have an unquenchable thirst for fully equipped, high-powered, chrome-laden conveyances. High expectations created by one of the largest and longest advance marketing campaigns ever to be undertaken for the launch of an automobile caused the public to flock to dealerships for the Edsel’s introduction. Unfortunately, the large, expensive Edsel that was planned to be all things to all people suddenly stood for excess, not progress. This standout Edsel has been nicely maintained over the years; its paint, chrome, and trim have a patina only acquired with age, but it does not detract from an otherwise interesting automobile. It is equipped with an automatic transmission, pushbutton radio, and properly outfitted trunk with spare and jack equipment. Owning an icon such as the Edsel will always make a statement, and this convertible can be driven and enjoyed without hesitation.
