Model 40. 85 hp, 221 cu. in. L-head V-8 engine, three-speed manual transmission, solid front axle and live rear axle with transverse semi-elliptic leaf springs, and four-wheel mechanical drum brakes. Wheelbase: 112 in.

Improvements made after the introduction of Ford’s V-8 included a new cruciform, a double-drop frame, and a longer wheelbase of 112 inches. Evolutionary upgrades to the engine allowed for more power and convenience. As though taken right from a Ford postcard, this sedan wears all the right colors. It is finished in black with yellow pinstripes and five matched wire wheels. As a DeLuxe model, it also carries dual chrome horns, cowl lights, dual tail lamps, and a greyhound mascot. The passenger compartment is well finished with soft tan upholstery throughout, which exhibits some wear, and a wood grained dash. The engine bay and chassis appear correct but show some sign of aging and could be attended to if so desired. This example can be enjoyed immediately and improved incrementally, yet, as-is, it remains a grand Ford that is very attractive from any angle.
