A busy executive needs a way to relax after a long day in the boardroom. For Kurt Donath, CEO of the Bavarian Motor Works, happiness was hunting, and to please their chairman, BMW built him a “Jadewaggen,” or hunting car. Essentially a golf cart for the wilderness, this car was based upon a stock Isetta chassis and running gear, with custom bodywork designed as a mount for two gentlemanly sportsmen, and it offered space in which to haul home the spoils of a successful hunt.
The original Jagdwagen was lost long ago, but one has since been recreated to the exact specifications of the original. The result is this car; a painstaking recreation constructed on an Isetta chassis, as the original was lost nearly six decades ago. This Isetta has been in the collection of the consignor since he purchased it from the Bruce Weiner Microcar Collection. It is virtually identical to the car built for Donath, and it is the ideal automobile for the BMW enthusiast looking for something a little different. The Jadewaggen is sure to get attention and curious looks at every automotive event.
