By far, most Porsche bodies were built by Reutter, of Stuttgart. Karosseriesfabrik Reutter & Co. had a long alliance with Porsche. Established in 1906, the firm was an early user of aluminum and also pioneered lightweight bodies using Weymann fabric patents. They had built prototypes for Ferdinand Porsche in 1932, for the genesis of the Volkswagen, and they also bodied BMWs and Mercedes in the thirties. When the Porsche Company returned to Germany from Austria in 1950, Reutter leased them some factory space for car production, and they built the early bodies, including coupes, cabriolets and speedsters.

The three year, complete restoration of this Porsche came to a conclusion earlier in 2014 with it resulting in this beautiful presentation. The car has new floor pans, and retains the original engine cover and trunk lid. Fitted with the correct engine per the Certificate of Authenticity (COA), the 1,582-cc flat four-cylinder engine has been rebuilt along with the four-speed transaxle and torsion bar suspension.

Per the COA, the car is finished correctly in Aetna Blue paint from Willhoit Auto Restorations, light gray interior, is fitted with a Blaupunkt three-band AM/FM shortwave radio, desirable VDM steering wheel and a correct black top provided by Autos International. Included with the purchase of the car are the restoration receipts, toolkit and the Porsche COA.
