Front-dinette two-wheel travel trailer. 12-foot, 3-inch cabin. Length overall: 15-feet.

Although trailer camping was a popular activity in the 1920s, it was not until after World War II that travel trailers really came into their own. Wally Byam’s Airstream really gave birth to the genre, and others like Shasta, Serro Scotty and Rainbow helped make it popular. Rainbow, named for its varied two-tone color schemes, was built by the Edwards Manufacturing Company of Sunland, California, a Los Angeles suburb.

This well-preserved example of Rainbow’s Vacationer model has its original varnished paneling, stove, ice box and twin lounge beds. The forward dinette can also be converted to a bed by lowering the table and re-arranging the seat cushions. In very good condition, it is ready to travel.
