Also known as “Carrier, Light Weapons, Infantry,” the M274 truck is most often called the “Mule.” Developed to supplement both the 1/4-ton Jeep and 3/4-ton M37 Weapons Carriers, it was introduced in 1956 and manufactured through 1970, during which time 11,240 were built. Using a variety of engines over the years, the Mule had a constant four-wheel drive setup and no suspension. Very versatile, it was also capable of being air-dropped. The units being offered are the “A5” variants, with two-cycle, air-cooled engines.
Painted white, this M274A5 has an engine by the Hercules Division of Hupp Corporation. Its military service is unknown, but it appears ready to work after being re-commissioned.
