The 1983 Lincoln Quicksilver Ghia concept car was designed and built by Carrozzeria Ghia of Turin, Italy; then a division of Ford Motor Company. This one-off car is said to have debuted at the Geneva auto show in 1983, and with its futuristic design, it toured through 1986 at car shows around the world.

The Lincoln is based on the British AC 3000 ME chassis that was lengthened by eleven inches. It is powered by a Ford 2.8-liter V-6 engine that is mated to a five-speed manual transmission. This engine was being used in British Fords of the era. This concept car has a mid-engine, mounted in front of the rear wheels. The Quicksilver is streamlined, attractive and the interior was deemed to be spacious for its passengers. The drag-coefficient of this machine is quoted as .30, demonstrating the forward thinking of the design group.

Very few concept cars, from any of the world’s manufacturers, are found to be available to the buying public. This represents a rare opportunity to do so, and better still is the fact it is from the esteemed Lincoln marque. This car has fewer than 1,000 miles and, along with being an investment, will be a nice addition to anyone’s collection.

Please note that this concept auto show model was designed and built for display purposes only and to gauge public reaction and input from its various design elements. Despite its appearance, it has not been engineered to be driven on public roads nor has it been certified as meeting any U.S. federal or state vehicular regulations or standards.
