The Cord sedans were offered in two trim levels, the entry-level Westchester, with flat broadcloth upholstery, and the Beverly, with pleated broadcloth seats and center armrests. Offered here is one of the particularly rare 812 Beverly models, a late-production example with its original engine, featuring a fuel pump in the same position as for the supercharged cars.
Its current owner, an Auburn Cord Duesenberg (ACD) Club member, has reconditioned it for driving, including tuning the shifting mechanism, adding a vacuum reservoir to maintain constant vacuum pressure, repairs to the exhaust manifold, reconditioning what is believed to be the original radiator, completely rebuilding the brakes, and fitting correct hubcaps. Some small modifications from “stock” were made by a previous owner, including non-original taillights and a push-button starter. The car retains its original engine and the rare factory-optional pleated leather interior, with original leather still on the backseat.
This is an excellent driver-quality Cord, for the owner seeking entry into these fabulous, innovative machines.
