For the second time in three years the Camaro was selected to pace the Indianapolis 500. Chevrolet capitalized on the publicity and released 3,675 limited edition “Pace Car Replicas” in the coupe (RPO Z10) and convertible form (RPO Z11), like this car.

Chevrolet RPO Z11 is “Indy 500 Pace Car Accents,” which basically created the look for the orange-striped ZL2 special ducted hood and decklid stripe for the Indy pace car replicas. The Z11 option cost just $36.90, but resulted in a slew of options: C05 white convertible top, D80 spoilers, YA1 deluxe seatbelts, ZJ7 rally wheels, Z22 Rally Sport (hidden headlights), Z27 Super Sport and Z87 custom interior (orange houndstooth, code 720). Cloth seats were not otherwise available in a convertible.

The example being offered is a Z11 car with the desirable 396-cid V-8 engine with four-speed manual transmission that has a few updates for comfort and safety. These include aftermarket air conditioning, ventilated four-wheel disc brakes, underdash Realistic AM/FM radio, plus 18- and 20-inch custom wheels with Nitto tires. Other factory features include a rosewood steering wheel, console with gauges, cruise control and in-dash Delco AM radio.
