Introduced by Ford in April 1964, the Mustang was a car that, in period, was not expected to be offered by a Detroit manufacturer. It was so distinctively beautiful that it was awarded a Tiffany Award for Excellence in American Design; the first automobile ever to be so honored by Tiffany & Co. Mustang conveyed the look, fire and flavor of one of the admired European road cars.

Finished in red with an optional white vinyl top; this particular Mustang hardtop coupe has a Palomino bucket seat/console interior and is powered by the one-year-only 260-cid V-8 engine which is matched to a Dual Range automatic transmission. This car was assembled on June 29, 1964 and is reported as “one of the earlier cars.” This rust-free Texas car also is equipped with chromed styled steel wheels, power steering and a newer air conditioning system.
