Big news in 1967 was the introduction of the all-new Camaro, Chevy’s answer, albeit two and one-half years late, to the wildly successful Ford Mustang. Based on the same long hood, short deck-style of the Mustang, the two literally matched each other feature for feature and option to option. Like the Mustang which owed its origins to the compact Falcon, the Camaro had its roots in the compact Chevy II Nova with which it shared many components.

Delivered new to Charlie Irish Chevrolet in Baltimore, Maryland, this car is painted in Royal Plum Metallic, a one-year color offered only in 1967. It was delivered new to Charles Purcell, also of Baltimore, on January 14, 1967. Purcell’s father was a Chevrolet dealer representative and helped order the car to make it special. Included is the original Protect-O-Plate, owner’s manual and older registrations. Camaro expert Jerry MacNeish has certified it as authentic with the engine, transmission, and rear axle all original to the car. The drivetrain is composed of an L30 275-hp 327-cid V-8, Saginaw M20 4-speed manual transmission (now with Hurst shifter), and 10-bolt Positraction rear axle.

In addition to the unusual and highly desirable color, the Camaro is equipped with numerous options including center console, J52 front disc brakes, wood steering wheel, power steering, tachometer, AM-FM radio with rear seat speaker, deluxe interior, and auxiliary lighting. Front and rear spoilers have been added. Most importantly, this Camaro was owned by the same owner until Mr. Ramsey purchased it in 2013. It all adds up to one unique Camaro!
