The Depression had passed and economy was gaining momentum, Edsel Ford noticed that automobile sales began to rise, contrary to those of low-priced Fords and high-priced Lincolns. Medium-priced cars like Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Buick, Dodge and Nash saw sales soar. Utilizing existing Ford components, Edsel set about creating a new car with a styling combination of the Ford Deluxe and the Lincoln Zephyr; its wheelbase was longer than the Ford but shorter than the Lincoln.
This Particular vehicle is painted in Capri Blue, has a tan convertible top and a complementary burgundy leather interior. Its styling is not the only attribute; it is driven by a 239-cid Flathead V-8 engine, which produces 100 horsepower. That power is transferred through a smooth three-speed manual transmission. It benefits from a professional, from off restoration with the intent to keep this heavily optioned car as original as possible in presentation. Wonderful options include whitewall tires, chrome trim rings, bumper guards, radio, clock, heater, fog lights, search light, radio antenna with interior handle, exterior mirror, and power top which is reported to be in like new condition. Additionally it is equipped with fender skirts, leather wrapped steering wheel, a complete set of gauges, laminated glass, aluminum heads, and dual exhaust. This is a great example of a pre-war American classic.
