The mechanical and cosmetic restoration of this 1957 Corvette (originally from California) was executed by Werner Meier of Masterworks Automotive Services; it was completed in 1999. The car was repainted in April of this year. Ther car is reported as complete with a correct replacement 283-cid, 230-hp V-8 engine with its correct carburetor, rebuilt four-speed manual transmission, new wheel cylinders and brakes, complete new wiring throughout, plus the gas tank is sealed and the radiator has been re-cored. The car also exhibits the removable hardtop, tonneau cover, American Torque Thrust wheels and Goodyear Eagle GA tires. The car is reported as never seeing snow or salt. It was trailered out of California after sitting idle for 25 years.
