The 1937 Ford models featured a number of firsts for the company. Design-wise, the headlamps were now mounted in the front fenders, which, along with the grille and skirted fenders, were styling cues borrowed from the new Lincoln-Zephyr. Elegantly displayed, this cabriolet was one of only 10,184 produced and remains one of the most sought-after early Fords. Finished in gloss black with a saddle interior and tan soft-top; the Model 78 Ford is powered by a 221-cid, 85-hp L-head V-8 engine that is matched with a three-speed manual transmission. Among the factory options are a radio antenna, side-view mirror, dual windshield wipers, spider wheel covers and wide whitewall tires. Unique to the rumbleseat cars, the interior has a pass-through area between passenger compartments. Very few cabriolets come to auction, and this stylish example possesses great investment potential.
