Like the original Mach 1, the ’71 Mach 1 retained some distinctive features, such as racing-style hood pins, a black finished hood with intakes, and the Mach 1 script on the quarter panel. For a little more money, the Mach 1 could be jazzed up with a rear deck spoiler, Magnum 500 wheels, tinted glass, a console, and a gauge pack, to name a few items. At the beginning of production, the 429 Cobra-Jet Ram Air topped the performance charts, with only a handful produced for 1971. This is a perfect example of a strong performer.

Equipped with the top-line 375 brake horsepower, 429 Super Cobra Jet engine, this Mach 1 has the coveted Ram Air option, as well as a C-6 automatic transmission. Only 815 were produced with this engine and transmission code. It also features a nine-inch rear end, power steering, power front disc brakes, and factory air conditioning. Showing fewer than 44,000 miles on the odometer, it is extremely clean and correct throughout though the title shows exempt. Other equipment includes an 8,000 rpm tachometer, an AM/FM stereo radio, and an electric clock. A stunner in Medium Yellow Gold, an archetypal Mach 1 hue, this Mustang never fails to impress.
