The low-14-second quarter-mile times posted by the 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 required no apology. This impressive time was accomplished in the early days of the ever-increasing emission and fuel standards required by government mandates. The impressive LS5 454-cid, 365-hp V-8 engine was the key component to maintaining relevant speeds and performance and being able to confidently make claim to the term, “musclecar.” This particular car is enhanced further by also having a floor-mounted four-speed manual transmission. The interior color is black and the Chevelle has a bench seat and radio.

The classic SS lines on this blue Chevelle are highlighted by black sport stripes that are on the special domed hood with functional hood lock pins, and these extend to the trunk deck lid. The top has the optional vinyl covering, also in black. A black-accented grille, special SS 454 badging, tasteful brightwork, driver’s side remote sport mirror and factory-correct five-spoke wheels that are fitted with new radial tires are all found on this desirable and quite uncommon specification LS5 Chevelle. The Sport Coupe is very nicely presented and is maintained in a manner that is conducive to many exciting miles of driving; whether it is travelling down the highway or accelerating from stoplight to stoplight.
