  • One of just 249 Century Sport Phaetons produced for the 1939 model year.
  • Powered by a 141hp 320cid “Dynaflash” eight-cylinder engine & 3-speed manual transmission.
  • Well-equipped example featuring most factory accessories including dual side-mount spares.
  • Hallmark late art-deco design desired by Buick collectors and enthusiasts.

Even in 1939 Buick engineers aimed for better aerodynamics without a total redesigning. They used smart styling with eminent good sense in the planning of the 1939 models. Buick’s styling for 1939 was highlighted by a new, two-piece “waterfall” grille. The new grille was complemented by a narrower hood, thinner front door panels and larger hubcaps. The 1939 Buicks are considered by many automotive and design historians to be one of the bench mark vehicles of the late Art Deco period.

This Century Sport phaeton is one of only 249 examples produced during the 1939 model year. Like all Centuries, it is powered by a 320.2-cid, 141-hp inline eight-cylinder Dynaflash engine with a three-speed manual transmission. This is a well-equipped example featuring most of the factory offered accessories for this year including dual side-mounted spare tires with metal covers, fender-mounted parking lights, radio, driving lights, twin mirrors and driver’s side spotlight.
