In a generally bleak Depression-era market, pickup trucks were a staple Ford product. The flathead V-8, whether the economical V-8-60 or the top 85-horsepower model, provided stump-pulling power and kept Ford pickups in the forefront of the sales race.

The 1937 Ford pickups were restyled with a new, rounder grille and front-fender mounted headlights, reflecting the contemporary Ford passenger-car styling, which was itself heavily influenced by the landmark Lincoln-Zephyr. The cargo bed was steel-floored for durability with supporting wood planks for strength. Whether in Standard form with the 60-horsepower V-8 engine or in Deluxe trim with the 85-horsepower V-8, Ford’s light-duty workhorses offered contemporary levels of style and performance.

Formerly part of the renowned Michael Dingman Ford collection until 2006, this 1937 Ford Pickup continues to benefit from a high quality, show-winning body-off-frame restoration. Handsomely finished in red with black fenders and black hood and cab accents, it began life as a Standard model powered by the V-8-60 engine but was restored with an 85-horsepower, 221 cubic inch V-8 and Deluxe trim.

The restoration was performed with careful attention to accuracy and detail, including Ford-scripted glass and a period-correct engine bay. The quality of the restoration was confirmed by the achievement of Senior Grand National honors from the AACA in 1996, as well as the coveted Dearborn Award from the Early Ford V-8 Club.

Dual horns, a single outside mirror, dual taillights, deluxe wheel trim with hubcaps and trim rings, dual white sidewall tires, a side-mounted spare tire, dual windshield wipers and chrome bumpers, grille, hood and windshield trim give this truck a sparkling presence.
