Amidst the various ranges of Chevelle, Camaro and full-size Chevrolet Super Sport models, it is often forgotten that the compact Nova was also available with SS equipment. First marketed in 1966, the Super Sport was initially a trim package, although it could be warmed up with various performance options, prominent among them the small-block V-8, which came in both 283 and 327-cid. The most powerful was the 350-hp 327 from the Chevelle. When teamed with a close-ratio four-speed it created quite a performance package.
This car has been built to those specifications as part of a rotisserie restoration. It has power brakes, bucket seats, factory AM radio, windshield washers, door edge guards, a day-night mirror and a tissue dispenser. The dashboard has an auxiliary temperature gauge, an instrument frequently missing in standard GM cars. The Deluxe interior is done in black and white vinyl, and it has a black vinyl roof.
All in excellent condition, it has Firestone D70-14 redline tires and correct SS wheel covers. Rare and desirable, finished in a great color combination, this Nova represents one of the best driving muscle cars to ever come out of Detroit. If there is such a thing as compact muscle, this car has it.
