Offering a slight bump in performance from the already exceptional XK 140, the Special Equipment version featured Jaguar’s C-Type cylinder head, adding 20 bhp to offer a total power output of 210 bhp. Along with the revisions already built into the XK 140 platform, including increased legroom and the fitment of two rear seats, thanks to moving the engine forward three inches, the XK 140 SE proved to be an excellent sports car but also a highly capable grand tourer, especially in fixed head coupe form.

This Jaguar was exported to Germany in 1973, where it has remained ever since. It was restored shortly thereafter and was repainted red whilst retaining its black leather upholstery. During the 1980s and 1990s, the car was driven regularly in vintage rallies in Wiesbaden. Kept in a heated garage alongside a handful of other Jaguars of the same era, it has always been well looked after in its present ownership and used sparingly for special occasions in recent years.
