Please note that this lot will need to be collected in Karlskron, Germany.
Manufactured on 10 September 1958 this Jaguar XK 150 was then dispatched to H. Winberg of Illinois, USA. Produced in the dashing colour combination of Carmen Red over black leather, the XK 150 still retains its original 3.4-litre engine.
Although little history of the vehicle is known, at some point the Jaguar was repainted white, and the interior was reupholstered in light blue leather. By 2005, the XK was badly in need of restoration. It was at this time that a complete body-off restoration was undertaken. Extensive photographs show the step-by-step process: where possible, the original metal was preserved, and new sheet metal replaced overly rusted areas. The engine was thoroughly cleaned and rebuilt before being repainted. The body was repainted in the original Carmen Red, and the interior upholstered in a comfortable biscuit leather with tan carpeting.
During the restoration, certain improvements were added to increase comfort for the new owner. Upgrades such as power steering and power brakes make for improved driveability, while heated seats, an improved sound system, and improvements to the cooling system increase interior comfort.
Sold into Germany in 2016, this 1958 Jaguar XK 150 Drophead combines classic styling, driver comfort, and wonderful engine power. An iconic British sports car, no collection is complete without one.
