In 2011, the FIA launched its ‘Action for Road Safety’ campaign in partnership with Schuberth and several Formula 1 drivers who raced wearing the German company’s helmets.
For the collaboration, Schuberth designed and created two helmets. The first was finished in a gold livery. While production was limited, it was available for the public to purchase. The second, however, was exclusively manufactured for the FIA, and was not offered openly. This helmet design featured deep blue paintwork, the FIA logo, and the signatures of Michael Schumacher, Nico Rosberg, Fernando Alonso, Felipe Massa, and Nick Heidfeld incorporated into the livery. Please note, these drivers did not physically sign this helmet.
Then FIA president Jean Todt gifted these helmets to the heads of various national motoring organisations. The Schuberth C3 helmet offered here was gifted to the consignor’s father, Dr Philip Agius, President of the Touring Club Malta for a number of years.
Here is a remarkable opportunity for collectors to acquire a helmet which was never available to purchase on the open market.
This helmet bears the serial number ‘69’.
