Gordon Murray's masterpiece, the McLaren F1 road car, was introduced at a lavish presentation on 29 May 1992 at The Sporting Club in Monaco, two days before the 1992 Monaco Grand Prix which was won by Ayrton Senna driving a McLaren-Honda MP4/7A ahead of Nigel Mansell in a Williams FW14B in one of the Monaco GP's epic races. It may have been an epic grand prix, but today is only a footnote to the history of Gordon Murray's famed McLaren F1 which is still the most valuable and sought of all supercars.
