The "Lil Red Express Truck" came about when some of the performance fans within Dodge's engineering staff found some loopholes in governement legislation that basically allowed them to put a high performance engine in a pickup without meeting the same emission levels as a car. From here, it didn't take long to add wood trim, fat tires, and chrome exhaust stacks like an 18 wheeler to give it some visual pizazz. A clever name from marketing was the final step and the "Li'l Red Express" was born.

The quickest accelerating domestically built vehicles of their day, it wasn't long before the Red Express trucks developed a cult following which has only grown over time. The lot offered here is an excellent example which hasn't been modified or neglected. With its dual chrome stacks, "police" 360 engine, automatic transmission and wood trim, it is a great way to have fun with a collectible vehicle.
