This one-off Anglia custom has an all steel body that can easily be removed from its chassis within one hour’s time. The frame is from M & S Frame and is completely powder-coated. The front end is from Kugel Komponents; it is independent and fitted with disc brakes. The rear end is a nine-inch Ford with 3.01:1 gearing. The rear suspension is four-link with coil-over shock absorbers.
The power comes from a 383-cid “stroker” engine that is balanced and blueprinted. It also has a B&M supercharger and 850 Holley carburetor. The engine has a Sig Erson roller cam and roller rockers. The heads are ported and polished. The pistons are from Arias. The engine compartment is very nicely detailed with abundant chromed and polished components. The use of Aeroquip couplings and stainless steel braided hoses are also in evidence. The engine note is from Flowmaster mufflers and polished stainless steel exhaust.
The attention to detail is seen throughout and underneath. The fuel system also utilizes Aeroquip and stainless steel braided hose. All components are finished to a high-level of presentation. The Competition Orange paint is accented by custom graphics and the custom interior is the work of Mark Ambrose.
The Anglia has been victorious in many car shows, garnering numerous awards. This includes “Best in Engineering” at an unspecified event. The Anglia has also been featured in the February 1990 edition of Hot Rod Magazine.
