- Debuting in 1969, the Grand Prix was the idea of then Pontiac general manager John DeLorean to bring a new level of style and luxury to the intermediate class car market. The SJ trim title is even a nod to the luxury and class borrowed from Duesenberg
- An all new Grand Prix had been scheduled for 1972 but was delayed by a 67 day corporate strike pushing the new body style back to 1973
- Mid-year Pontiac released a radial tire option for the Grand Prix including Firestone 500s or BF Goodrich T/As which can be found on this particular example
This Sundance Orange example is absolutely loaded with options. Among these you will find factory air conditioning, tilt wheel, twin sport mirrors with driver's side remote, trunk release, Honeycomb wheels, AM/FM with eight-track tape player; power windows, door locks, seat, steering and brakes. This is the desirable SJ model with the 455-cid V-8 engine with console-shift automatic transmission.
