January 1959 saw the start of Metropolitan Series IV (NK4) production. This major re-design saw the addition of an external deck lid and vent windows. By this time, the engine had been up-graded by increasing the compression ratio from 7.2:1 to 8.3:1 giving an output of 55 bhp from a 1490-cc/1.5-liter B-series inline-four cylinder engine and a column shift 3-speed transmission.
This Metropolitan is nicely presented in red and black with a black convertible top and correct Nash hubcaps and thin line white wall tires.
