Most certainly the rarest of the rare, this Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante Zagato was without a doubt the fastest convertible available in its day. Not content with the regular fuel-injected V585 V-8 engine, the first owner of this Volante, chassis number 30028, selected the extremely powerful – and expensive – upgrade to the V580X Vantage engine. This engine produces an outstanding 432 horsepower, making the car capable of blistering speeds in excess of 295 km/h and acceleration to 100 km/h in under five seconds.

Fitted to this powerhouse of an engine is the optional five-speed ZF manual gearbox, allowing for an incredible driving experience. Motor Sport Magazine could not have been more enthusiastic about the Vantage Volante Zagato upon its release, claiming that ‘Aston Martin has more than achieved its aim.’

On offer here is the only left-hand-drive example of these upgraded vehicles, presented in dazzling Fury Yellow with black leather interior and black mohair hood. Specially selected dark wood facia highlights the subtle elegance of the stripped back Zagato-styled interior, completed with a lush black carpet. Often thought more beautiful than the fuel-injected V8 Volante Zagato, 30028 showcases the style of the Vantage Zagato coupés – the bonnet power bulge on full display over the original lights and much more attractive grille. The essence of 1980s machismo, it would be hard to imagine a more eye-catching Aston Martin.

Offerta all’asta, l'unico esemplare con guida a sinistra tra i veicoli dotati del motore più potente, verniciata in un abbagliante Fury Yellow su interni in pelle nera e tetto in mohair nero. Appositamente richiesta la plancia rivestita in legno scuro che esalta la sottile eleganza degli interni minimalisti in stile Zagato, completati da un ricco tappetino nero. Spesso considerata più bella della versione ad iniezione della V8 Volante Zagato, 30028 mostra lo stile delle coupé Vantage Zagato – con l’imponente rigonfiamento del cofano a bella vista sopra i fari originali e con una mascherina molto più attraente. La pura essenza del machismo in stile anni ’80, è difficile immaginare un’Aston Martin più attraente.
