As resto-mods continue to gain popularity due to their utilization of modern technology and power with vintage designs, customs such as this Stingray have much to offer to the individual looking to stand out from the crowd. As such, this particular 1967 Corvette Convertible has received a full body-off restoration, with nearly every one of its components updated both inside and out. The chassis has been powder-coated and now cradles a 502-cubic inch big block engine, which is mated to a five-speed Tremec manual transmission in order to handle the added power and torque.
Nearly every metal part under the hood is chromed, polished, or updated with billet aluminum components, to create the most visual impact. An aluminum radiator, electric cooling fan, headers, four-wheel power disc brakes, power steering, and posi-traction further add to the car’s desirability. At the same time, the suspension was rebuilt using polyurethane bushings. The interior has been retained in largely stock appearance for a 1967 Corvette, with the notable exceptions being the tilt steering column, steering wheel, Pro Comp gauges, CD sound system, and Vintage Air climate control. Tasteful modifications to the exterior include oversized billet wheels with speed-rated tires, smoothed bumperless front and rear facias, exceptional purple paint, and a tan Haartz soft-top. This Corvette also comes with a file that documents its build process.
This Chevrolet was well received when it was completed, as it has earned many first place awards, including one at the Phoenix World of Wheels. It is also important to note that over 5,000 miles have been logged on its odometer since completion, proving that this Stingray is much more than a trailer queen.
