The original owner received this lovely Mercury as a graduation present from his aunt. After his passing, his daughter sold the car to Jerry Vincentini, a chief judge for the Early Ford V-8 Club and a former president of the Early Ford V-8 Foundation.

It was complete and rust-free, its quality such that Vincentini embarked on a full and meticulous restoration, completed in 2005. It was honored by the Early Ford V-8 Club on two occasions, receiving the prestigious Dearborn Award for restored cars. It has also received AACA Junior, Senior, and Grand National awards and was featured in Antique Automobile, the AACA magazine. In addition, it was a concours winner in Des Moines, Iowa. Since its acquisition by well-known collector Nick Alexander, it has been generally freshened, and a new black canvas top, with red piping, has been fitted. Despite the age of the restoration, it still stands up to close scrutiny and will be competitive in a wide range of judged events.

The interior is done in black and red leather. For 1950, Mercury received a new aircraft-inspired instrument panel, which gives the driver eye-level information on all functions and convenient controls. Fitted with optional overdrive and power windows, this car is reportedly a delight to drive and comfortable for passengers.

Because of the association with James Dean’s Rebel Without a Cause, many 1950 Mercurys have been modified. Therefore, this is a rare opportunity to acquire a prize-winning, authentic restoration of an original car, presented the way it would have been delivered new.
