As Ducati rationalised its production lines in the early 1980s, it combined the 900 Darmah SS with 600SL Pantah bodywork to create the S2, which would also form the basis of the last MHR. 1982 models offered the option of electric or kick-start, but most are electric start and with 40-mm Dell’Orto carburettors. Striking colours of bronze with yellow, orange and red stripes, or red and black, were offered, and the final bikes had spin-on oil filters. Along with the MHR, these were the last bevel-drive V-twins offered by Ducati, and this solid original was prepared for museum display.
