Specifications: 175 cc SOHC single, four speeds.

The engine that won the 1955 and 1956 Motogiro d’Italia and Milan-Taranto races found its way into street bikes, in modified form, with enclosed valve springs. It was launched very quickly; the first production bevel-drive 175 Sport debuted at the Milan show in December 1956. The 175T was somewhat detuned from the Sport but could still manage 68 mph, producing 12 horsepower from its 7-to-1 compression ratio. An early example made a round-the-world trip in 1957 and 1958, ridden by Giorgio Monetti and Leo Tartarini, who later became chief of Italjet. This example is restored, with excellent red and white paint and good chrome.
