Specifications: 249 cc SOHC single, five speeds.
The 250-cc wide-case Scrambler was the third model to use the wide engine crankcases and was not intended for serious off-road competition. With a compression ratio of 9.2 to one, the 250 did not have a decompression lever to assist starting. Some early examples had the speedometer mounted in the headlight, like the 350-cc model. All three bikes weighed just under 300 pounds and were fitted with Marzocchi forks. The 250-cc engine is often considered to be the smoothest of the range. This dark yellow and black example is described as a very nice original with good paint and chrome and would complete the set for a buyer seeking all three models.
