This striking ex-works Lancia Fulvia Group IV rally car was built with a Scocca Alleggerita (lightweight) body, registered to Lancia in 1973 and then prepared in Marlboro’s iconic livery. Like all works cars, it was registered in Turin and numbered TO 233323. The Fulvia was prepared in night-stage configuration with large Cibie lower spotlights, and photographs on file show it at the 1973 San Remo Rally, where Lampinen finished 8th overall. That year, the car also ran at the Rally of Switzerland and the Monte Carlo Rally, where Kallstrom finished 8th overall. The car remained on its original registration until 1977, where notes in the accompanying ASI documents confirm Beni Italo of San Vincenzo Livorno as the next owner.
Today, the Fulvia is fully restored and features its period rallying livery, gold-painted wheels, slightly flared wheel arches and such correct details as wired retaining pins on the boot-lid, a large polished fuel-filler cap and large Cibie spotlights. The interior remains in good original condition with slight patination to the seat upholstery. The large rev counter, lack of speedometer, rally timer and quick-access fuse box certainly complete the competition-bred character. The very clean and tidy engine bay is dominated by the highly tuned and detailed V-4 engine. Accompanied by original ASI documents and period photographs, this ex-works Fulvia 1.6 HF is a highly desirable example of an early-1970s motorsports legend.
