Mercedes-Benz introduced the 450SL in the United States in 1971. It featured the same basic styling of the 350SL and also shared the R107 chassis it was constructed on with front and rear double-wishbone suspension. The U.S. spec cars were capable of achieving a top speed of 124-mph and were easily identifiable by their four round headlights, a styling change made to meet U.S. regulations. With its performance pedigree and classic Mercedes-Benz styling, the 450SL remains a desirable collector car.

This 1975 Mercedes-Benz 450SL is presented in blue with a red pinstripe and a removable hardtop. Additional exterior features include foglamps and color-matched factory wheel covers. The 450SL is powered by a 4.5-liter, 225-hp V-8 engine that is connected to a three-speed automatic transmission. Power equipment on the car includes windows, steering and four-wheel disc brakes. The interior is completed in cream with accenting wood trim; and features leather bucket seats, air conditioning and a radio. In 1975, Mercedes-Benz produced 6,011 examples of the 450SL.
